I offer Antietam Study Notes for history lovers who need or want help decoding the Battle of Antietam. They are a window into my own studies, which I share at Civil War Cycling, because … why not?
Why Publish Antietam Study Notes?
One thing that you will not find on the web is a free a repository for people who are studying to become a battlefield guide. Civil War Cycling’s “Antietam Study Notes” is a modest beginning for such a venture. It is a free, evergreen online notebook. It will grow through time.
These notes do not regurgitate content that is available elsewhere. We do not want to re-invent the wheel. Instead, we offer links to a few well-established web sites, annotated listings of reading recommendations, and online notes that include flashcards. Although the notes themselves are mostly text, this web site also offers free audio-visual learning materials and interactive quizzes. (See Antietam Battlefield Fun!)
Please consider sharing your feedback. (Thank You!)
These notes will grow and change over time. If there are mistakes in these pages, we would appreciate hearing about them.
